A three-storey building in Ahmedabad's Ranip area collapsed on Friday morning injuring four people who were trapped inside.

The building collapsed due to weak structure which was further weakened due to water-logging in the area.
"We have rescued four persons, who have been shifted to the civil hospital while one more person inside the being is being rescued. They have received injuries but no casualty," a police official said, adding that the fire and rescue team of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is handling the rescue operation.
Ranip is a lower middle class area lacking in civic amenities like sewerage, proper drainage and storm water discharge.
Many areas like Ranip get flooded and waterlogged even when it drizzles, as the civic body has not been able to create adequate infrastructure in the Gujarat's largest city with almost six million population.
