Burglary solved within eight hours, two held

A unit of Jammu and Kashmir police in Lalbazar in Srinagar arrested two burglars and recovered Rs 11,000 and gold ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh within eight hours of the commission of the crime.

A unit of Jammu and Kashmir police in Lalbazar in Srinagar arrested two burglars and recovered Rs 11,000 and gold ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh within eight hours of the commission of the crime.

Speaking to the media, SSP, Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari said: "Fida Hussain Magloo, a resident of Madeen Shaib, Lalbazar, reported theft of gold ornaments and cash worth lakhs from his house to the Lalbazar police."

"A police team was rushed to the spot. The crime scene was inspected, which provided some clues following which a woman was arrested," the SSP said.

On her confession, gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh and cash worth Rs 11,000 were recovered. On her instance another accused involved in the crime was also arrested, he added. The recoveries were made within eight hours of the commission of the offence.
