At least 13 people were killed instantly and another two died on the way to hospital following the accident in Bogra district, about 175 kilometers north of national capital Dhaka, private television station ATN Bangla reported.

Another 55 people have been taken to hospital, the report said without providing further details.

Police officials were not immediately available for comment. Fatal road accidents, blamed on faulty vehicles, unskilled driving and lax rules, kill about 4,000 people each year in this South Asian nation.
