The incident took place in Priti Nagar locality on Sitapur Road. The woman Geeta (25) was reportedly under treatment at the clinic near her house in Priti Nagar for past six months. On Sunday, she visited the clinic with her husband Chuttkan for a check-up.

When she complained of pain, the consultant doctor at the clinic injected her some medicine. After sometime, Geeta was sent back home by the doctors. However, she reportedly died after reaching home. This sparked off anger among the family members. They held the owner of the clinic captive alleging negligence in treating the patient.

Irate locals then damaged the property and demanded action against the doctor for negligence in duty. Madiaon police rushed to the scene after getting the information.

The doctor was rescued two hours after the cops reached the spot. However, no case has been registered against the doctors or the clinic staff. Meanwhile, in yet another case in Tkhakurganj area family members of a pregnant lady Poonam went on the rampage at a private clinic when her newborn baby died some hours after the birth.

Family members alleged laxity on part of doctors. However, doctors said the family was asked to take the child to KGMU Trauma Centre as the facility of ventilator was not available here. But, the baby was not taken to KGMU on time, they alleged.

Poonam was admitted to the nursing home on Saturday while the death of child reportedly took place on Sunday.
