Here's how to buy a perfect wrist watch.

Background check: Before buying a wrist watch, it is essential to make a checklist of things you need the watch to have. Setting a priority list will help you finalise the type and brand of watch you want to buy. First of all, you must buy a watch of a reputed brand from one of its authorised outlets only. This prevents you from getting fooled with a fake watch. So, check the credentials of the watch store well.

Post-sale services: Any gadget you buy, may need repair or replacement, after a certain period. Thus, ensure that the brand you select should have facilities of after-sales services across the country.

Select a style that suits your personality: Watches are available in formal, sporty and fashionable styles. Make sure you choose the one that not only suits you the most but also the occasion you wear it for. Women should select the watch keeping in mind their wardrobe, whether they wear an Indian or western outfit.

High readability: Make sure the readability of the watch is high. If you need to read time at night, make sure the indices have sufficient luminova, which will help you to read time better.

Water resistance: Be sure the watch you buy has water resistance. Most brands have a water resistance of 30 metres or 50 metres, which is sufficient for regular use. But if you swim with your watch on, make sure the watch you buy has a minimum of 100 metre water resistance.
