GK Pillai, currently special secretary in the department of commerce, will be full-fledged secretary, according to a decision taken by the appointments committee of the central government Thursday.
AK Singh, special secretary in the department of agriculture and cooperation of the ministry of agriculture has been appointed secretary, ministry of textiles.
NA Viswanathan, additional secretary and financial adviser to the ministry of home affairs, has been made director general of the National Productivity Council in the rank of secretary.
The committee also approved the continued appointment of Parthasarathi Shome as adviser to Finance Minister P Chidambaram at the level, rank and pay of secretary for a period of three years beyond Sep 30 or until further orders.
