“Train services were affected between 8.40 pm to 9.25 pm,” said a WR spokesperson.
A motorman of a passing train saw the hanging cable television wire and alerted the authorities thinking that an overhead railway wire had snapped. Electrical engineers rushed to the spot to check the fault and switched off power supply to all four lines of the rail network.
However, they found it was just a cable television wire and not an overhead railway wire. The Western Railway authorities filed a complaint at the local police station.
