Candidates create ruckus, lathicharged
THE CANDIDATES for the post of constables were lathicharged when they threw stones at the police personnel at the police line here on Saturday. They created a ruckus during the recruitment process alleging irregularities in physical test of the candidates. When the police failed to control the situation, they resorted to mild lathicharge.

When the police failed to control the situation, they resorted to mild lathicharge. The incident created panic in the area and the shopkeepers closed their shops and ran away.
The police department is carrying out process to recruit about 600 constables at the police for about one week.
The applicants registered complaint stating that although they submitted their application on time, the police officials delayed conducting the physical test.
According to reports, when the candidates came to know that some application forms went missing from the records, they shouted slogans against the officials.
Heated exchanges took place between the candidates and the officials. A heavy police force rushed to the spot and restored to mild lathicharge to bring the situation under control.
The applicants levelled serious charges against senior police officials and said that the candidates belonging to political parties and leaders were getting preference in the physical test. The other candidates who have been coming to the police line for the past one week were being ignored.
