Seven people, including a girl, were arrested and five luxury cars and 12 bikes recovered from their possession, police said.

The arrested were identified as Ajay Sharma, Mohit, Kailsh, Raju, Sheetal, Vipin and Sonu.

Ajay Sharma and Sheetal are pursuing MBA from a private institute in Ghaziabad, police said.

The gang used to change the colour of the stolen vehicles and then sell them in northeastern states and Rajasthan under fake registration numbers, they said.

Transport department touts in Meerut used to provide them with fake documents, police said.
