Car runs over sleeping labourers in Mumbai

Two labourers, were killed and four others injured when a car ran over them while they were asleep.

Two labourers, including a woman, were killed and four others injured when a rashly-driven car ran over them while they were asleep under a flyover off the Western Express Highway near the Kama Estate at Goregaon in Mumbai.

The deceased have been identified as Mukatbai Mukund Jadhav (60) and Sandeep Shankar Kunhal (40) while the injured include of Nirmal Mahadev Kunhal (34), Sanjay Mahadev Kunhal (24), Bebi Shinde (30) and Lalita Sanjay Kunhal (22) -- all of whom have suffered head injuries.

The police have registered a case against the driver of the car, Gopal Krishna Shokasingh Nadar (21), who had fled after the accident.
