Case against 18 election officers for dereliction of duties

Police on Saturday registered cases against 18 presiding officers for dereliction of election duties during the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls in Muzaffarnagar.

Police on Saturday registered cases against 18 presiding officers for dereliction of election duties during the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls in Muzaffarnagar.

“These officers were found absent during EVM training before the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections,” Additional district Magistrate D K Singh said.

He said besides instituting departmental enquiry, a case under Representation of People’s Act has been registered against them.
