CBI arrests 13 people in Bharatpur riot case

Ten people were killed in the violence and ensuing police firing on September 14 over a plot of land. The Gujjars, who claim ownership of the land, were opposed to Meo Muslims using it as a graveyard.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested 13 people in the Bharatpur communal riot case which claimed ten lives on September 14 in Rajasthan.

Violent clashes had broken out between Mev Muslims and Gujjars following a land-related dispute on September 14 this year in Gopalgarh area of Bharatpur district, Rajasthan.

Ten people were killed in the violence and ensuing police firing on September 14 over a plot of land. The Gujjars, who claim ownership of the land, were opposed to Meo Muslims using it as a graveyard.
