Court will also frames charges against former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and 38 others.

The court on Monday fixed February 22 as the date for framing charges against the accused in the scam that relates to the embezzlement of funds of the state animal husbandry department meant for buying fodder.

Charges will also be framed against former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Dhruv Bhagat, Janata Dal-United legislator Jagdish Sharma (both former chairmen of the Public Accounts Committee of Bihar assembly), Rashtriya Janata Dal MPs RK Rana and Vidya Sagar Nishad.

Nishad is a former minister for animal husbandry.

Court officials said the designated CBI judge Munni Lal Paswan fixed the date after hearing counsel for Lalu Prasad and others and senior public prosecutor LR Ansari who appeared for the investigating agency.

Paswan directed all the accused to be present in court on February 22 to facilitate the framing of charges.

The case relates to the fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 9,00,000 from Banka and Bhagalpur treasuries by animal husbandry department officials who submitted forged and fabricated bills when Lalu Prasad was Chief Minister in the 1990s.
