CBI may summon home ministry official for the third time

The CBI may summon home ministry’s under secretary Anand Joshi, who is accused of issuing arbitrary notices to the NGOs overed by the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), for the third time next week after he did not turn up for questioning on Friday.

CBI had recently registered a case against Joshi, accusing him of indulging in corruption including demanding and accepting bribes from the NGOs he targeted.

Joshi before disappearing left a note at his residence in which he claimed that he was facing “mental harassment” and had made too many enemies while serving the nation.
