The CBI team recorded the statement of the family members of Kumar's second wife Poonam at their house at Digiana, CBI officials said in Jammu, adding the exercise was conducted to find out where the accused's family members were staying.

The agency is trying to locate the place where Kumar's family is living in Canada so that it could firm up its report about the investments made by him in that country, the officials said, adding the information needed to be shared with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

A police team from Muzaffarnagar had arrived in Jammu to raid the house of Kumar's wife on February 4 but failed to locate the address and has gone back.
