"The Centre is trying to take revenge on yoga guru Ramdev," Bharti told reporters here.

She alleged that a Congress general secretary has also threatened noted activist Anna Hazare with similar consequences which Ramdev faced.

Criticising spurt in crime and anarchy in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP leader claimed that the killing of a state coordinator of Hindu Yuva Vahini in Basti was a result of connivance between government and criminals.

The lathicharge on BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi in Deoria was a violation of democratic rights, she said.
