Even after cleaning t he 10-wagon train stationed at platform 5 since Thursday morning, railway officials were still clueless about the train’s destination.
“On Thursday night, we were given instructions to start filling the wagons. We are waiting for further instructions about its destination,” said a senior railway official in Jhansi.
However, railway minister Suresh Prabhu’s tweet on Thursday morning suggested the train could be heading to Bundelkhand, possibly Mahoba. Prabhu tweeted, “#bundelkhand. At Jhansi stn water filling in 10 tank wagons has started, expected to be filled up by evening. We do our best.@narendramodi”
Meanwhile, the UP government tweeted several pictures of dams and reservoirs in the state to convey the message that there was no shortage of water in Mahoba. Senior minister Shivpal Yadav said, “UP doesn’t need any water, we already have plenty.”
