Tomar told newspersons that the party did not discuss the issue at its office-bearers’ meeting. The BJP government is taking all possible measures to eliminate corruption in recruitments in the State, he said.

Refusing to be drawn into the issue, Tomar said Lokayukta was an independent establishment. Asked about Speaker Ishwardas Rohani’s view on the issue, he said what he has said had to do with Vidhan Sabha’s rules and procedures. Replying to another question, he said the party would study different aspects of the Supreme Court ruling.

Speaking about the party’s programmes in near future as discussed at the two-day office-bearers’ meeting which ended on Sunday, he said the State BJP’s executive meet on February 7 and 8 at Bhopal would be followed by Mahila Morcha’s human-chain programme on February 10 to protest ‘spiralling prices’ and other ‘anti-people policies’ of the Centre.

He said Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists would launch a signature campaign from February 11 to 17 in all districts for the early execution of Parliament attack convict Mohd Afzal.

On February 17, rallies will be held at district headquarters in this regard. Alleging that the Centre was adopting a soft attitude towards terrorism, he said the UPA government wanted to prolong the matter until Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

He said organisational election in the remaining 14 districts would be completed by the end of January.
The party’s Vikas Shivir programme would be held in all the 230 assembly constituencies and workers would be trained at a two-day camp in March.

He asserted that the state government has taken adequate measures to counter Naxalite mence. He said a decision on his resignation from the State cabinet is expected in the next couple of days.
