KGMU ADMINISTRATION is on the lookout for a scapegoat. But it fails has failed to find one from among its community.

The charge sheet against suspended junior doctor RK Gupta is ready but there is no one to put his signature so that the same could be served upon as a process for his expulsion.

Dr Gupta was arrested by police on January 21 against charges of instigating violence on campus and was released on bail last week. He is behind the bars once again for producing fake High School certificate. All these actions have come up against Dr Gupta, who is now under threat of losing even his MBBS degree in case charges of documentary fraud were proved. But KGMU authorities are still trying to defend him. They had once issued his expulsion order on December 24 but it was revoked due to a documentary fault.

The same incident has alarmed everyone on campus and now there is no one to sign even the charge sheet against Dr Gupta. Registrar, Prof US Pandey, who is ready to do the needful, cannot, since he is the one who lodged the FIR in connection with arson on campus. As per the legal cell of KGMU since registrar was party to the incident he cannot sign the charge sheet.

This may give the opposition a point in defence that the one who framed charges is also framing the evidence. The charge sheet against Dr Gupta was prepared on Saturday and since then it is moving from one table to another but no one from the administrative office is ready to put his signature on the controversial paper.

The Vice-Chancellor would join the office on February 27 and it is expected that signatures would only be done when he arrives. Till then, the charge sheet would roam all around the campus like a football.
