I know all about the fantasy of living it up on your own. But there exists a block between the pleasures of a sinful single-hood and a boring nightmare in a strange city: The Land Lady.

Adequately armed with a job and a smashing adventurous spirit and dollops of attitude?

If I am not mistaken you do wish to have your cosy little pad done to your taste…with loads of cushions, rugs, not to mention colours?

I know the fantasy of living it up on your own is more or less the same for most.
I will not disappoint you… but maybe I'll just put in a word of caution -

You may have slithered out of the clutches of your parents and may be in the perfect mood to drop a bit of your morality - but Liberty - believe me you is not yours until you get a place to stay - free from prying land lords and morality aunts.

The days of the once-in-a-lifetime recklessness can be bulldozed if you don't take care of it on day one. The first day you bargain for a place.

So the toilet is clean? The switches work? The flush works just fine and they have running water in the kitchen? The rent too is just about okay? Cool - so should you sign the agreement?

Essentials taken care of, doesn't mean that the serious stuff has been worked out too!
There's plenty that's not written on the stamp paper.

After all, you may not particularly like the colour of the wall paint but that's a little less high on priority right now…
