Chattisgarh to host National Games

The Indian Olympic Association allotted the 37th National Games to Chattisgarh on Tuesday. Raman Singh, chief minister of Chattisgarh, signed the host city contract along with Suresh Kalmadi, president of the IOA, at a function organised here on Tuesday.

The Indian Olympic Association allotted the 37th National Games to Chattisgarh on Tuesday. Raman Singh, chief minister of Chattisgarh, signed the host city contract along with Suresh Kalmadi, president of the IOA, at a function organised here on Tuesday. IOA secretary Randhir Singh was also present.

Raman Singh also handed over a cheque of Rs 2 crore to the IOA president to formalise the bid to host the Games.

Kalmadi said he was happy that Chattisgarh will be hosting the National Games, which is indicative of IOA’s commitment of spreading the Olympic movement in the country.

“Hosting the National Games also means the state will have good infrastructure and other facilities,” said the IOA president.
