Talking to reporters in Sirsa on Thursday Chautala said that he did not cast his vote in his native village since Lyngdoh had imposed a ban on his voting in 1999 when the Lok Sabha elections took place.

"The ban has not been lifted so how can I exercise my right to franchise," he said adding that if the EC wants to deprive him of his fundamental right to vote he cannot do any thing.

Chautala has not voted in any election, including the Assembly, since then, INLD sources said.
