Prakash Amritraj kept the Indian flag flying high, as he started the season with a superb 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over highly ranked Brazilian Ricrardo Mello to progress to the pre-quarterfinals of the ATP tour Chennai Open tennis championship in Chennai on Monday night.

Rohan Bopanna made it a double delight for India with a 7-6(2), 6-4 win over Rajeev Ram, an American of Indian origin, to become only the third Indian in the history of the tournament in the country to qualify for the main draw.
Sandeep Kirtane (1996-New Delhi) and Harsh Mankad (2005 - Chennai) were the other two to achieve this feat earlier.
