"Ashwin has split in his middle finger. We do not know how many stitches he will require... he has been taken to the hospital. The team has decided not to take Ashwin for the next two matches," CSK team manager Russell Radhakrishnan said during the post-match press conference.

Ashwin will remain in Chennai. On Tuesday, CSK edged KKR by 2 runs in a low-scoring match to top the IPL table, with Ashwin picking up 2 wickets.
