Had the Chhattisgarh government taken strict action against Naxalites as has been done by Congress governments in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, the situation there would not have been like that, Singh told reporters in Raghogarh.

Singh said because of Naxal activities in Chhattisgarh, it appeared that the Madhya Pradesh government had some understanding with Naxalites.

"May be it was because of this understanding that the Madhya Pradesh government was not initiating action against Naxalites in some areas," he said.
