Children?s Day celebrated

SEVERAL SCHOOLS in the city celebrated Children?s Day to mark the birth anniversary of the first prime minister of the country Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru here today. The Delhi Public School, Kalyanpur, celebrated the Children?s Day with pomp and show at the school auditorium ?Rivera? in the city today.

SEVERAL SCHOOLS in the city celebrated Children’s Day to mark the birth anniversary of the first prime minister of the country Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru here today. The Delhi Public School, Kalyanpur, celebrated the Children’s Day with pomp and show at the school auditorium ‘Rivera’ in the city today.

The programme started, with a child, dressed up as chacha Nehru, walking up the dais and reading out an extract of a letter written by Pt Nehru to the students, to help them realise their dreams and ideas of the life.

Similarly, the Maharana Pratap Education Centre also organised several cultural programmes for school children. Here also teachers, instead of students, held the assembly, which was followed by animal show for the kindergarten students and a movie show for other students.

Children’s Dat was celebrated with enthusiasm at Dr Virendra Swarup Education Center, Kidwai Nagar. IG Rizwan Ahmed graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Children suffering from cancer came from the Cancer Institute to enjoy the Children’s Day function. The age of the children suffering from this deadly disease was from 2 years to 11 years. They were presented blankets and gift hampers by the chief guest, as a special token of love on the occasion.

At Jain International School, teachers and students participated in Children’s Day programme with zeal. The festivities began with elephant rides and joy rides. A cricket match was organised between teachers and students.

Meanwhile, Bishop Westcott School celebrated Children’s Day. The main items of attraction were balloon competition, hurdle race, dancing competition, and cycle race. Kids participated in solo singing and fancy dress competition .

Rally taken out

Children’s Day programmes were organised at Gyan Niketan School. Students of the school organised a rally to mark this day.

Even sweets were distributed among the students to celebrate the day.
