Chillout Nasha, hot and heady

Martinis and massage! The heady combo is the mantra at the new lounge bars opening in the city these days. The ’70s-style disco has given way to the 21st century lounge bar with cozy soft couches. With dancing not hot anymore, the new breed of high-flyers want a place where they can drink, talk and hang out.
At the launch of yet another lounge bar, Nasha, on MG Road, beauty expert Blossom Kocchar said the fastpaced work environment was the reason why relaxing lounge bars were in vogue. “A night out with friends can become a manicure evening, between sips of cocktail,” she added.

Nasha isn’t offering massages just yet, but there’s great ambience and food in store. The husband wife-team of Tunvy and Sammir Gogia (they also run the Red Coral restaurant on MG Road) may not have got the turnout they expected at the launch but that may be because the swish set was divided between attending Ranna Gill’s show at Olive and the Bovet launch at F Bar & Lounge.
“It takes a lot to get the P3P to join us for a night-out,” explained Tunvy. Those who did turn up included golfer Digvijay Singh. Romi and Kapil Dev made a cosy couple, so did designer Mandira Virk and her mallet-wielding husband Hardy. “Lounge bars define privacy and fun. Discos have gone out of fashion,” said Mandira.
The showstopper was Tunvy’s sister, UK-based journalist Neha Bal, dressed in a red skirt and white Mango halter.
