The area falling under the Allahabad region of Tourism Department will be embellished with all suitable facilities to make it as amicable for the tourists as possible.
In a recent meeting, the Chief Minister announced approximately Rs 11 crore for the development of the region.
According to regional tourist officer RK Yadav, the first major development on the cards is the construction of a VVIP guest house or the Circuit House which would cater to the needs of the personalities such as PM, President, CM, Governor, etc. This guest house will be constructed on the premises of already established tourist lodge.
“The amount sanctioned is Rs 3.9 crore. It will be furnished with all five start facilities and there will be 4 suites in it. When vacant or not in use, it will be provided on high charges for rent to the affluent class people. The tentative amount to be charged will be Rs 10,000 per day,” Yadav said.
The existing tourist lodge will be expanded and 16 rooms will be added to the 12 rooms already constructed.
There is a good news for those in the media as a separate media centre will be constructed which will have the facility of Internet, telephone, fax and fooding and lodging facility. An amount of Rs 45 lakh has been sanctioned for the purpose.
Charming valley of Devangana Ghati Koti Teerth will be provided a link road.
“The valley reminds of the alluring beauty of Mussorie. The road would be constructed on the similar pattern spirally encircling the valley as found in Mussorie. This valley gets its name from the fact that several thousand saints are still meditating in various caves here and they are uninterested in mingling with the crowd. But the beauty of the valley needs to be highlighted and the link road will solve the purpose of exposing it without disturbing the peace of saints,” said Yadav.
Tourist lodge will be constructed at Bharat Koop for which Rs 22 lakh has been sanctioned. The spot is actually a well, which is considered sacred and its water is carried by the pilgrims who appproach the region. Bharat collected water from all the rivers and oceans to perform the Rajyabhishek of Lord Ram, which he denied. Bharat thus released the water in a well, which is known as Bharat Koop.
“The parikrama route of Kamad Giri, the place where Lord Ram is said to have spent his period of exile, will be renovated for which Rs 4.9 crore has been sanctioned. Besides, all the crossings in Chitrakoot will now have indication boards and lights and this will cost Rs 15 lakh,” Yadav said.
These facilities would surely enhance the overall look of the region and attract more pilgrims and tourists to the spot, added the officer.
