CID room sealed, voice recorders seized

In a late night move the government sealed a room in police's crime Investigating department (CID) wing after a report percolated that an officer who had purportedly recorded telephonic conversation of leaders, bureaucrats, and journalist was attempting to destroy it.

It was late at night that chief secretary Sudripta Roy received information that bids were being made to destroy the voice purportedly recorded by an officer of deputy inspector general Rank. Roy, acting promptly along with DIG headquarters Abhishek Trivedi, quickly went to CID headquarters in the Kasumpti and got the room sealed.

In morning, police officials seized the devices used for recording. Police officials also seized the hard disc of the computer. The seized hard disc of the computer was handed over to Shimla deputy commissioner Subashish Panda, who is also director of information and technology department. In the evening, the government quickly removed the DIG, CID, RM Sharma and instead posted Abhishek Trivedi in place of him. RM Sharma is still awaiting posting. The room which was sealed was reopened in the morning.
