India's first high technology printed circuit board production facility will be coming up on Chennai's outskirts.

Aspocomp, a leading Finnish company, producing advanced printed circuit boards will be setting up the new high density interconnections (HDI) boards plant within the Nokia Telecom Special Economic Zone in Sriperumbudur, 80 km south of here.

"Aspocomp plans to invest 75 million euro in unit that will be built over an area of 33,000 sq m," Aspocomp CEO Maija-Liisa Friman said here.

"The decision to invest in Chennai, India was made to meet the future capacity needs of Aspocomp's existing customers," she said.

The unit is expected to become operational after June 2007.
