As part of efforts to digitize records, Noida police will soon upload all FIRs online.

According to officials, Gautam Budh Nagar district has been selected to begin the exercise in the first phase of building a Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS), a flagship project of the union home ministry.
Noida phase-II police station will be the first police station to digitize its records.
The project, which will eventually cover the entire nation, aims to centralise all criminal data, including FIRs and details of criminals, along with their pictures.
"It would be one of the biggest data banks of crime and criminals, which will connect all the police stations of the country to a single server. In order to make effective policing, this centralised data will have detailed information concerning any criminal activity and criminals in any part of the country under a single hood. The National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) has been appointed as the nodal agency for the implementation of CCTNS," said Triveni Singh, in-charge, CCTNS, Noida.
It will not only help the police to function better but also enable common men to access the information/FIR at ease, with just a click of a mouse.
A person will also be able to check the status of a case and name of the officer who is investigating the case on the internet. There will be various services for the citizens such as applying for a passport and arms licences.
