The CM said even though the state could not get due attention as it was overshadowed by the Uttarakhand tragedy, the central government was aware of the damage caused by natural disasters in the state.

“The Centre has assured that a relief package would be immediately given to the state as per assessment of the actual loss,” said Singh.

He said various issues pertaining to the welfare of the state, including enhancement of industrial package, would also be pursued with the concerned ministries so that entrepreneurs may be given incentives to set up industrial units in the state, which would not only add to the economy but would also provide jobs.

The CM is scheduled to meet the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and union ministers during his visit to the capital.
