College girl raped by cousin in Ramnagar

A college girl was allegedly raped by her cousin at Barmeen village in Ramnagar here on Thursday. According to the police, the accused identified as Joginder Kumar raped the victim, when the two were on their way to home from Udhampur.

According to the police, the accused identified as Joginder Kumar raped the victim, when the two were on their way to home from Udhampur. The accused, who is an MSc student, had boarded a bus from Udhampur on Thursday evening along with the victim and after reaching Barmeen they started covering the distance on foot.

However, as it turned dark the accused allegedly overpowered the girl at an isolated place and committed the crime.

The victim narrated the incident to the family members after reaching home. They took her to SSP, Udhampur, and on the direction of SSP, Ramnagar police, a complaint was lodged. Investigations are on. The medical of the victim was conducted. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
