"By carrying out the political pilgrimage ... Pay obeisance to the new poster boy of his party's divisive politics, Rajnath has proved BJP's direct relationship with those hell bent on making UP and the whole country a second Gujarat through Pilibhit," party spokesman Ashwini Kumar told a press conference here.

The Congress leader, however, parried a question on whether his party justifies the invoking of NSA against Varun Gandhi saying, "NSA has been invoked by the state government. Only they can tell what is right and what is wrong."

He maintained that the "Congress has always been against abuse and misuse of any law, more so of stringent laws. Whether or not in a particular case ... In this case it was justified or not, it is for the state to answer."

Taking a jibe at the "party with a difference" slogan of BJP, the Congress leader alleged that the saffron party has repeatedly shown how different is its political agenda from the core values of the Indian nation state.

He alleged the BJP has no vision for the future on core issues like security, good governance and economic empowerment or any programme for united modern and progressive India.
