UP CONGRESS Legal Cell hailed the victory of Congress candidate in the Mayoral election. The members of the cell claimed it as the ‘beginning of the end of mafia raj and their influence on public life’.
The pro-Congress lawyers and intellectuals, under the aegis of Congress Legal Cell, shared these views. The meeting was convened by HC Pathak and was presided over by BD Madhyan, senior advocate of High Court.
Prominent among those who participated in the meeting and hailed the victory of Chaudhari Jitendra Nath Singh, included Avinash Kumar Verma, chairman of legal cell of city congress committee, Sharad Chandra Singh, Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Satish Madhyan, Girish Chandra Yadav and others.
Central Government Counsel at High Court, Sharad Chandra Mishra has also congratulated Chaudhari Jitendra Singh, a congress candidate, for Allahabad’s Mayorship.
Congmen distribute sweets:
Congress workers who were in jubilant mood, distributed sweets, burst crackers and greeted each other following the victory. They decided to work together to strengthen the party and discuss the strategy for the forthcoming Assembly polls in the State.
Prominent senior Congress leaders who congratulated mayor-elect Jitendra Nath at his residence, included UPCC general secretary Ramyagya Dwivedi and Fuzai Hashmi,UPCC spokesman Kishore Varshney, ex-MLA Vijay Prakash, UPCC members including Harikesh Tripathi, Kaushambi, DCC President Ishrat Azim, Gauhar Kazmi, Sudhakar Tiwari, President Pradhan Singh, Kamal Hasmi, Vijay Mehrotra, Shiv Baran Singh Yadav, Ajay Mishra, Hafeez Khan Keshav Lal, Raj Kumar Tripathi, Balendu Mishra and many others.
Mayoral poll victory day: A group of pro-Congress advocates of Allahabad High Court on Wednesday decided to observe the mayoral poll victory day on November 14, which happens to be the birthday of late Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. The decision was taken at the meeting of advocates presided over by HN Mehrotra. The UP advocate election campaign committee’s meeting also passed unanimously a resolution moved by SK Vidyarthi, congratulating the people of UP in general and the people of Allahabad in particular for reposing their confidence and faith in the Congress party under the dynamic leadership of Sonia Gandhi.
While congratulating Jitendra Nath Singh for his victory in the mayoral election, the resolution further added that this victory has enhanced the pride of the Congress party once again on the political map of UP.
The meeting was attended by several advocates including DS Tiwari, BD Madhyan, SC Misra, DN Yadav, MP Sinha, KK Parikh, AK Rai, RKS Chauhan, KK Tiwari, UK Mishra and others.
