Himachal Pradesh Congress on Friday accused the ruling BJP government of transporting party’s campaign materials in state buses and advertising its achievments on tender forms of projects in violation of the election code of conduct.
“HPPCC would draw attention of the Election Commission of India on blatant violation of poll code by Prem Kumar Dhumal government,” state party president Kaul Singh Thakur told reporters in Shimla.
Thakur alleged more than 120 persons have been transferred in the state cooperative banks after model code of conduct came into force. “Even in departments, transfers were being done on back dates,” he claimed.
The PCC president said the state government was publicising its achievements by printing them on tender forms of projects of PWD and IPH departments.
He alleged CM decision to himself review functioning of departments of past one year also breach of the code.
Thakur alleged that BJP poll propaganda materials were being transported in HP state Transport Corporation buses from Delhi. Besides, distribution of pack of 4 CFL (Compact Fluroscent Lamp) bulbs were on as part of energy saving Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna.
He said the state party has opened a cell to keep an eye over the government violating poll codes.
