Addressing an election meeting at Kakatiya Degree College ground here, BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu held the Congress responsible for the "under development" of the country.
"Congress is lagging behind in campaign as leaders lack confidence to approach the people," Naidu said.
"Though Congress is claiming to have secured the nuclear technology and telecom development, it was the NDA government that went ahead with the nuclear tests and brought telecom revolution in the country. I am sure that the shape of the country will change entirely in the next five years under Vajpayee," the BJP president said.
Earlier, speaking to reporters, Naidu said BJP was clear over Telangana issue and the state unit had passed a resolution for the separate state. "However, it was yet to be considered by the party's leadership at Delhi, since it was not in the NDA agenda," he said.
The party's star campaigner and movie actress Vijaya Shanti also addressed the meeting.
