Talking to journalists at the State BJP office, Shekhawat blamed the Congress for ills plaguing the cooperative sector. Shekhawat said the Congress leaders and workers were at the helm of affairs in the cooperative sector and they made use of the cooperatives for their personal gains.

He said the BJP coopera tive cell had fixed three objectives — first, dislodging from the cooperative sector the Congress leaders who indulged in corruption and malpractices; second, making effective the working committees in the cooperative bodies, and the third, getting installed duly elected bodies in place so that the cooperative bodies could work efficiently.

Shekhawat said Subhash Yadav was facing cases of corruption and the apex body would ensure that all the evidence related to the corruption was furnished in the court.

He said out of 29 cooperative banks, 11 had been declared ineligible financially to transact the business. Now only four of these banks remained ineligible and they too would be on path of progress soon.

Apex Bank was suffering a loss of Rs 72 crore. Now it earned profit of Rs 57.62 crore. This was a result of getting the cooperative sector being rid of political exploitation, Shekhawat added.
