Gandhi, who is on one-day tour of the state, was campaigning for the second phase of elections at Kakinada.

Addressing a public meeting in the port town, Gandhi recalled the sacrifices made by his family for the nation and said that Congress is always striving to come to the expectation of the masses and launched many welfare schemes like 'Rajiv Arogya Shri' and rice at Rs two per kilo.

Kakinada Lok Sabha seat is witnessing a triangular contest with Congress, TDP and PRP candidates in the fray.
