"It is a matter of congratulations, support and good governance that within 48 hours of a 475-page Supreme Court judgement, democratic traditions and conventions have been followed and implemented in letter and spirit," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

He said it was clear that both the Congress party and the UPA government "preach what they practise".

"It is understandable that the Opposition finds itself without an issue in the light of the steps taken by the Bihar Governor to resign on his own," he said.
