Murdered ACP Rajbir Singh’s wife Narvada Yadav on Friday claimed that her husband was killed in Gurgaon as part of a well-hatched conspiracy to keep the Delhi Police out of the investigation.

“The professional criminals who killed him knew that Haryana Police would not be able to investigate the murder as effectively as the Delhi Police and, therefore, choose Gurgaon to carry out the murder,” Narvada said.

Narvada rejected the Haryana Police’s claim that a mere property dealer could have her killed husband, who had downed dreaded criminals and terrorists. “Vijay is just a pawn. The Haryana Police have failed to identify the real murderers,” she said.

Asked whether she knew about the gun her husband had allegedly given to Vijay Bhardwaj, Narvada said that her husband would never do that. “My husband had never given the revolver to Vijay. It was done by the professionals. Why would my husband give Vijay a gun to kill him?” she asked.

The slain ACP’s wife demanded that the probe be handed over to some other investigative agency so that the real culprits are booked. “Otherwise, able police officials like my husband would continue to be targeted and criminals go scot-free,” she said.

The ACP's father, Mamchand Yadav, said his son was too powerful to be tamed by a person like Vijay. “It was the job of professional criminals,” he claimed.

Asked if anyone from her family had tried to establish contact with Vijay’s family to find out the truth, Narvada said she did not know the property dealer or his family directly.

Narvada said that she was qualified enough and should get a compensatory job. “Rajbir was the only breadwinner in my family. I have three children to feed. I am a B Tech (electronic) and should be offered job by the Delhi Government,” she said.
