A police constable and a civilian were killed by a group of Naxalites in Jarawandi area of Gadchiroli district, police said on Monday.

The constable and the civilian were identified as Chanu Fakira Peala (29) attached to the city police, and Vilas Kombre (30) respectively, they said.

The duo were shot by a country-made pistol, they said adding after which they were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

Further probe is on, police added.
