The District and Sessions court's Judge AK Sharma on Wednesday issued notice to Himanshu Sabharwal in connection with a contempt petition filed against him. The court has fixed May 10 for hearing the plea.

Former president of the Ujjain Bar Association Yogesh Vyas had filed the petition stating that Himanshu had given statements in media that he has no faith in Sessions Court of Ujjain where the trial of murder case of his father - Professor HS Sabharwal - is being heard. Himanshu had also reportedly remarked that the whole judiciary system was corrupt.

Vyas says this tantamount to contempt of court under Section 2 (C) and 12 of Contempt of Court Act. It may be noted that Himanshu has also refused to appear in the Session Court.
