Contractors demand tender on net

THE REGISTERED contractors on Monday convened a meeting and demanded invitation of tenders through Internet. They alleged that the people?s representatives in connivance with criminals were grabbing the tenders and issuing threat to other contractors.

They also staged a demonstration outside the PWD office and demanded checking of entry of the criminals. They threatened to launch an agitation if the authorities did not fulfill their demand.

They also discussed the incident violence between two groups over grabbing a tender of Rs 3 crore for road construction. Two persons, Satyendra Singh and Repunjay Rai, lost lives in the incident.
