Cop, wife suffer burn injuries

A POLICEMAN and his wife were burnt in mysterious circumstances at their house near Jehangirabad late on Tuesday night. According to police, Brajendra Pal Singh, 40, resident of Police Colony Jehangirabad, and his wife, Bansi, were admitted to hospital with burn injuries.

A POLICEMAN and his wife were burnt in mysterious circumstances at their house near Jehangirabad late on Tuesday night. According to police, Brajendra Pal Singh, 40, resident of Police Colony Jehangirabad, and his wife, Bansi, were admitted to hospital with burn injuries.

Bansi was burnt in suspicious circumstances and Brajendra while trying to put off the fire also received burns, police said.

Family sources said Bansi got burnt when she was heating water for a bath on the stove. However, the exact circumstances causing burns to both of them would be known only after their statements were recorded.

The couple is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Jehangirabad police are investigating the case.
