Srivastav was presiding over the crime meeting at Police lines. He directed the cops to make spot inspection on the complaints of residents and also announced the month-long traffic week and directed the police personnel to promote village security committee and to extend their network.
The SSP has also directed all the police station incharges to improve their performance and to prove their efficiency. He instructed the officials to maintain friendly relationship with the residents and to play a cooperative role in resolving their problems.
Raja said station incharges should select the crime prone villages for their night stay and the sensitive places should be given priority.
He directed the SOs to organise chaupal and to prepare an NCR register. However, he stressed the need to resolve the dispute by inviting both parties at police station.
He said police should be friendly to the people and stressed the need of making police public image better. He expressed his concern over unchecked flourishing business of illicit liquor in various parts of the district and directed the cops to launch a combat operation against chain snatchers.
Srivastav said police personnel should be sensitive and they should be honest towards their duties. ‘To check the crime is their basic duty but they should also play a supporting role for the needy people’, he added.
