Taking a strong exception to the incident, Justice AK Yog called the Municipal Commissioner Gaya Prasad and Health Officer Dr PK Singh in his chamber on Wednesday morning and enquired about the entire matter. He wanted to know the reasons from the police officers of not taking action so far. He ordered the police to comply with his order by arresting him by 4 pm. Hence, inactive police swung into action and arrested Sushil Yadav who is also a Samajwadi Party member.

Meanwhile, the indefinite strike by NN officers and employees was called off this morning and all the departments were opened to facilitate the citizens. The decision was taken on Tuesday evening on the initiative of Dr PK Singh who said 12 lakh citizens should not suffer because of strike at Nagar Nigam.

To recall, functioning of Nagar Nigam had remained paralysed on Tuesday in wake of complete strike observed by officers and employees of Nagar Nigam in protest against slapping of Health Officer by Corporator Sushil Yadav on Monday. The staff had taken a strong exception to the incident and resolved to continue their boycott till the erring corporator was arrested. An FIR was also lodged by the NN at Civil Lines police station on Monday evening itself.

Sources said the corporator Sushil Singh Yadav had exchanged heated words with Health Officer Dr PK Singh and wanted to get transferred one Arun Tiwari, who is sanitary inspector, to his ward.

Yadav alleged to had taken the approval from Mayor but when he approached Dr Singh the latter informed that an approval of Municipal Commissioner was a must. It led to heated exchange of words and slapping of Health Officer by the angry corporator.
