Counting of votes began at 89 places in Chhattisgarh on Thursday while counting in naxal-infested Bijapur constituency has been delayed.
Counting of votes began at 89 places in Chhattisgarh at the stroke of 8 am on Thursday while counting in naxal-infested Bijapur constituency in Dantewada has been delayed by six hours.
Since the electronic voting machines took time to reach Dantewada district from interior places comprising 39 polling booths, the counting will now begin at 2 pm, the election office sources told PTI.

Meanwhile, counting began amid tight security and initially postal ballots would be taken into account, they added.
Earlier reports had said that counting had begun at all 90 places in the state.
