Hearing a petition by a Mumbai-based company Wings Entertainment Limited, which alleged that the channel had infringed upon its registered copyright ‘Master Chef’, the judge issued a notice to Star India. The channel has been asked to present a record of its profits made by using the “trademark” on the next date of hearing on January 6.
The court in its order stated, “The company is restrained from using, publishing, exhibiting and telecasting the television show through its channels under the trademark Master Chef India 2 on Star plus and Master Chef Australia and Master Chef USA on Star World Television till further order.”
