A Bench asked the DIG to place the status report before it by November 3 and file an affidavit on allegations that the probe is not being conducted in an impartial manner.

On a petition filed by Professor Sabharwal’s son Himanshu seeking a CBI probe, it issued notices to the CBI, state government and others seeking their replies.

It also directed the state police to ensure witnesses coming forward to give statements were given protection.
